Frequently Asked Questions

Q. When is the stand open?
A. I open in the afternoon. Usually by 12:00 PM or 1:00 PM I have enough picked to open until about 6:00 or 7:00 PM.

Q. I see your sign with a certain vegetable, but itb’s not there on the stand when I stop. Why is that?
A. Everything is picked fresh daily, and itb’s first come, first served. When it’s gone, I pick some more the next day. Check again, or call me and leave an order e-mail or phone message and I will have a specially marked bag with your produce. For more details, go to our Pick-up, Pay and Go! service page.

Q. I don’t always have the exact change when I’m at the self service stand. How do I get change?
A. I canb’t provide change, unless I happen to be there. You need to bring exact change or write a check made out to Ledge Top Farm. I also cannot accept Canadian coins (the bank will accept them from me). The people in the nearby houses do not have anything to do with the farm stand, so please do not ask them for change.

Q. Are you organic?
A. The State of New Hampshire will not allow the word "organic" to be used to advertise food products unless you are certified by the state. I was certified organic for about ten years. I did not apply again to avoid the red tape. I did not find it a financial advantage to carry the certification. I have not changed my methods of growing; I do not and have not used any chemical pesticides or fertilizers on the land that I use for production.
